Chris’s skillset runs the entire lifecycle of emerging technology companies. However, much of his practice focuses on representing blockchain and cryptocurrency clients (including native protocols, centralized and decentralized application layer technologies, exchanges and other marketplaces, issuers of virtual assets, real world assets and stablecoins, and venture capital investors) in various transactions and regulatory matters.

Prior to joining Ashbury in 2021, Chris worked in the mergers and acquisitions group at Skadden, which Forbes called “Wall Street’s most powerful law firm,” for nearly eight years. He also performed freelance work for Fenwick, another prominent Silicon Valley firm known for its startup and blockchain practices.

Over the course of his career, Chris worked on the largest tech deal ever (Dell’s acquisition of EMC for $67 billion), was the lead associate on most of WeWork’s significant transactions (including its founder’s attempted $47 billion squeeze out of minority stockholders; now dramatized in a miniseries on Apple TV+), and advised Coinbase on various legal matters.
